Five Star Women of Color’s February event was a fundraiser. The members sold tickets to see Iyana Vanzant and Monica who both came to Baltimore, MD during the CIAA basketball weekend.
Iyanla Vanzant is an American inspirational speaker, lawyer, New Thought spiritual teacher, author, life coach, and television personality. She is known primarily for her books, her eponymous talk show, and her appearances on The Oprah Winfrey Show.
She appeared in person at the Lyric Opera House on Saturday, February 26th at 3 pm. Power, Purpose, and Prosperity for 2022 was the topic of the discussion. Persons on the panel included Iyana Vanzant, Yandy Smith, April Divah Styles, Dr. Lekeisha S. Hite, Razor Chic, and Lawerence Sidbury (former Atlanta Falcon).
A mini concert with Monica was held at 8:00 pm. Monica Denise Arnold is an American singer, rapper, and actress. Born and raised in College Park, Georgia, she began performing as a child and became part of a traveling gospel choir at the age of ten.
In addition to selling tickets to the panel and mini-concert, the members of Five Star Women of Color had a table where they sold sweatshirts.
