For the first time ever Five Star Women of Color put on a FREE festival, Afro Soul Festival. We were awarded the Cultural Arts and Science Project grant from the Maryland State Arts Council. The Inaugural Baltimore County Afro Soul Festival is a fusion of African culture, Caribbean culture, and African American culture which has resulted in a rich and vibrant tapestry of traditions, art, music, and food.
The festival was on June 10th, 2023, at 11202 Garrison Forest Road, Owings Mills, Md. and begin at noon and conclude at 6:00 pm.
The lineup of performers included Afro soul artist, Hip hop artist, spoken word poets, African dancing/drumming and a DJ playing the latest hits of Reggae, Afro Beats and more.

Outside of the performances there were food vendors and activities for children; there was something for everyone at the Baltimore County Afro Soul Festival. The event was well received, and we had over 2000 in attendance. We were confident that this event would be a memorable experience for all.
